Yizkor Book & Candles

The High Holidays are a time of memory and reflection, renewal and celebration. Yizkor is our service to remember the sweet souls that we have lost, individually and as a Community. It’s customary to recite Yizkor four times a year: Yom Kippur, Shemini Atzeret (which is at the end of Sukkot), the last day of Pesach (Passover), and Shavuot. 

Temple Emanuel is compiling a Yizkor Memorial booklet for members containing the names of our community’s loved ones who have passed away. These booklets will be available for Yom Kippur. We hope you will include the names of your loved ones. The first two names will be free of charge for each member, additional names are $10 each - the booklet is for members only.

On Kol Nidrei, we will light candles in remembrance of our departed loved ones. These candles are not only a symbol of remembrance, but also a heartfelt way to honor your beloved departed ones. You can purchase a candle inscribed with the name of your loved one for $18 - candle purchases are open to the public.

Every member has a log-in to see their personalized information, including Yahrzeits. If you would like to gain access to this information,  log in on the top right hand side of our webpage: tevb.org.  Enter your email address and your password. If you have not logged in before, or don't remember your password, select "forgot password."  Once you are logged in, go to accounts. You will be able to see your Yahrzeit information and even change the information if needed.  Please call the temple office if you are having difficulty with your email and/or password.
